Sandgate Bottles & Cans Exchange is a local business for the local community. Founded by a family with deep ties to the Sandgate Area our aim is ensure that the community we grew up in make the most of the Containers for Change scheme the Queensland Government launched in 2018.

With state-of-the-art equipment and a focus on excellent customer service we are sure you will have an ease of exchange when you visit us.

24/7 Bag Drop Facilities

Don't have time to visit us during business hours, or maybe your just want to drop your containers and go?

We offer flexible return facilities where you can return at a time that suits you, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Now, recycling your bottles and cans is easier than ever! Here's a quick guide on how to use our bag drop service:

1️⃣ Bag it: Secure your containers in a sturdy bag.
2️⃣ Tag it: Write your member number on the bag using a waterproof marker or sticker.
3️⃣ Drop it: Simply drop the bag at your nearest bag drop location!

Wine & Spirit Bottles

Good news, Queenslanders! As of November 1st, 2023, you can now earn a refund on your wine and spirit bottles. This fantastic initiative is aimed at enhancing our recycling efforts and rewarding you for your green actions. Our Container Collection Machines

Here at Sandgate Bottles & Cans Exchange we want your experience to be quick and easy and that was our idea when we designed and built our automated counting and sorting machines. No visiting different terminals or pre organising your containers as each terminal has three different conveyor belts for the different types of containers as well as a storage compartment for you to load your containers into so you can sort as you go.

Our friendly team will be there to guide you through each step of the way. We also have bulk counting facilities available so we can accept countainer amounts from as little as 10 to 10,000+

Member Number

You can now sign up to have your container refund processed directly into your bank account through electronic funds transfer. By clicking the link below you will be taking directly the sign up page where you will be given a Scheme Id. When you visit us just let us know you want it paid into your account, let us know your Member Number and we will take care of the rest.
